Island Projects
This is one of the most important forms of sponsorship because it helps to maintain and preserve the Sheffield Island Lighthouse for visitors today and tomorrow. Types of island projects include:
- Lawn maintenance
- Plantings and Island beautification for our visitors
- Lighthouse exhibits and maintenance
- Indoor maintenance of the Sheffield Island Lighthouse
- Procurement of exhibits and historic displays for the Lighthouse interiors such as photos, maps, and text to illustrate the various historically significant stories of Sheffield Island Lighthouse for educational purposes.

SPECIAL EVENT SPONSORS
The Seaport Association hosts many visible and highly popular events throughout the year. These events offer a significant tailored made marketing opportunity for your business, organization, or foundation. Sponsors of special events will be recognized in all publicity and social media promotions, and will be listed on our website, with links back to your business or organization.
- Docktails and Oysters – Become a sponsor at one of the Seaport’s most popular events that takes place at Norm Bloom and Sons dock. Sponsorship opportunities include, tents, tables and chairs, entertainment, party favors, food, or drink at this sell out event.
- Sheffield Island @ The Beach – This event is the high point of the summer and is held at Norwalk’s Calf’s Pasture Beach. Sponsorship opportunities include invitations, food, entertainment, signature drinks, tents, tables and chairs, and party favors.
- Norwalk Oyster Festival – Now in it’s 46th year, this is your chance to get your message in front of more than 50,000 people at this three-day festival that attracts visitors from the tri-state area. There are so many ways to become a sponsor of this event, from food, drink, entertainment, and world- class music, to tents, security, and children’s entertainment. All sponsors are recognized on our website, in our newsletters, and through our social media platforms.
- Pirates Weekend – Our most popular event for families this educational event showcases the maritime heritage of Sheffield Island in a fun, affordable, and engaging way for families. Sponsorships include entertainment, music, storytellers, and boat rental where kids ride free.
- Bird Cruise – One of the highlights of our summer season are the June Bird Cruises narrated by an avian enthusiast. If you care about the environment, sponsor the eco expert on birds that leads this eco-cruise.
- Private Entertainment – Sponsor an event for your company, organization, or foundation on Sheffield Island. Leave the details and catering up to us. Why rent a hotel dining room when you can rent an entire island.
- Newsletter – The Seaport Association publishes a seasonal newsletter to update members and friends of the Seaport Association on upcoming events, and activities. As a sponsor of a newsletter, you will have a write –up about your company with links back to your website.
