Each excursion will be from 7:30-10:30 a.m. aboard the Seaport Association’s 12-foot G.W. Tyler ferry. Cruises will depart from the Seaport Dock, adjacent to the Stroffolino Bridge at the corner of Washington and Water Streets, South Norwalk. According to Flynn, “Each cruise will be a different experience since the bird watching opportunities will depend on the height of the tide, weather and time of year. 31st Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival
Main Stage Headline Entertainers

Los Lonely BoysFriday, September 5 – 9:00 p.m.
Los Lonely Boys

Los Lonely Boys is comprised of the Garza brothers -- singer and guitarist Henry (28), bass player Jo Jo (26) and drummer Ringo (24). Their music has been described as “a deeply personal and stunning fusion of electric blues and Texas roots, of soulful grooves and good old-fashioned rock’n’roll, of searing six-string licks and Latin beats.” They have toured with the Rolling Stones and Santana and performed at Farm Aid with Willie Nelson. The group won the 2006 Univision Rock Band of the Year award. Los Lonely Boys has made multiple appearances on late night television shows with Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien and others.

“We’re excited about introducing Los Lonely Boys to the Seaport’s Oyster Festival audience,” says Mark Roman, the festival entertainment co-chair. “Just three years ago, Diamonds, the group’s first album, sold more than 2-million copies and their song ‘Heaven’ won the 2005 Grammy Award as best Pop Vocal Duo/Group. They also were nominated for Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Rock Instrumental. Sacred, their second album, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 list. We expect the musical energy of these unique and gutsy musical hermanos to be a great kick-off for this year’s Oyster Festival.”

Oak Ridge BoysSaturday, September 6 – 9:00 p.m.
The Oak Ridge Boys

The Oak Ridge Boys features lead singer Duane Allen, bass singer Richard Sterban, tenor Joe Bonsall and baritone William Lee Golden. Their hits include the pop-chart topper “Elvira,” as well as “Bobbie Sue,” “Dream On,” “Thank God For Kids,” “American Made,” “I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes,” “Fancy Free,” and “Gonna Take A Lot Of River.” The group has recorded ten gold, three platinum and one double platinum albums, one double platinum single and more than a dozen national #1 singles.

“Every time they step before an audience, The Oak Ridge Boys bring 15 years of hits and 50 years of tradition to bear on a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere,” says Mark Roman. “Their four-part harmonies and upbeat songs have earned this group widespread acclaim and we expect their performance at the Seaport Oyster Festival bring down the house.”

Sunday, September 7 – 6:00 p.m.
Sister Sledge Featuring Kathy Sledge

Although Sister Sledge gained international attention in 1975 with its first two recordings, “Mama Never Told Me” and “Love Don’t You Go Through No Changes on Me,” their big breakthrough came in 1979 with the Grammy-nominated recording of “We Are Family” written by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. Other Sister Sledge hits include “Lost in Music,” “He’s the Greatest Dancer,” “Got To Love Somebody,” “All American Girls,” “My Guy,” and “B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Baby).” In 2000, Sister Sledge was voted by VH1 as one of the most successful girl groups of all time, second only to The Supremes, and the next year, “We Are Family” was voted the No. 2 biggest record of all time.
In 1992, Kathy Sledge released Heart, her first solo album, which contained the No. 1 dance song, “Take Me Back to Live Again.” Sledge scored again in 1995 with a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Another Star” and in 1997 when she teamed with Robert Miles on the top 20 pop and dance hit “Freedom.”

“As the lead singer of Sister Sledge, Kathy Sledge has become an international musical star, electrifying audiences during thousands of performances throughout the world. We expect Sister Sledge to attract an enthusiastic crowd for this year’s Oyster Festival finale,” says Mark Roman. “I’m sure that ‘We Are Family’ will be echoing around the festival field.”
